QBE backs netball fundraiser
QBE hosted a netball shootout in Sydney yesterday as part of a fundraising drive for The Kids’ Cancer Project.
The event raised $3600, a spokesman told insuranceNEWS.com.au.
QBE Goals for Good was an initiative with the NSW Swifts Super Netball team, which the insurer sponsors. QBE pledged $100 for every goal scored, with the QBE Foundation matching the sum raised.
Parramatta Auburn under-14 player Celine Khoury scored 18 goals in the shootout, held at half-time during the game between the Swifts and Adelaide Thunderbirds.
“The Swifts club and players have an incredible energy, which helps to bring attention to the important work The Kids’ Cancer Project is doing, especially through its investment in rare childhood cancer treatment research,” QBE Foundation Chairman Bettina Pidcock said.
