QBE has appointed Julie Wood as Group Head of Distribution, with responsibility for broker and agency relationships.

Ms Wood, who has joined the Group Executive Committee, was previously at Marsh where she was a member of the US Executive Committee and has also held several senior executive roles at Zurich for 14 years.

“I see a great opportunity in being more strategic, consistent and aligned around how we manage distribution relationships,” Group CEO Andrew Horton said last week.

Ms Wood will closely with Mr Horton, division CEOs, the CUO and distribution teams in the role, reflecting moves to benefit from greater consistency across the group’s businesses.

“As we look forward, I think we have the right foundations in place, the right team, and importantly, strong enterprise-wide engagement around a clear and consistent strategy,” Mr Horton said.
