Peberdy to chair government insurer
The Victorian Government has appointed John Peberdy as the new chairman of the Victorian Managed Insurance Authority (VMIA).
Mr Peberdy was previously at Ansvar Insurance for 37 years. He was appointed CEO in 1999, and left the insurer in July last year.
Victorian Minister for Finance Robert Clark says Mr Peberdy will bring almost 40 years of insurance experience to the board.
“His experience includes strategy and planning, business management, leadership and human resources as well as broad knowledge of general insurance practice,” he said.
Mr Peberdy replaces temporary chairman Ian Gaudion, who filled the role after former senator incumbent Robert Ray quit in May last year.
