Organisers aim for record-breaking NT conference

The NT Insurance Conference will be held at Darwin Convention Centre on October 9-11 with the theme “modernisation”.

The event will address topics including artificial intelligence, cyber insurance, climate change litigation and mental health in the digital age.

It concludes with a gala dinner, when the winners of the NT Insurance Industry Awards and Stewart Cox memorial accolade will be announced.

Organiser Young Insurance Professionals NT expects record attendance after more than 350 people went to last year’s gala dinner and awards presentation.

“Building on a stellar year in 2023, this year’s conference is shaping up to be even better,” YIP NT committee president Travis Saxby said. “This year’s theme, modernisation, is extremely fitting, as it is crucial for insurers to stay competitive and resilient in this rapidly evolving market landscape.”

The conference will “delve into how best to harness the latest technology and tools to better meet the needs of a highly discerning and informed customer base”, he says.

The Territory Insurance Office is diamond sponsor, and platinum sponsors include Gallagher, GT Insurance, EML, Gallagher Bassett and Skyring.

“This year we are celebrating the 10th year of sponsoring the NT Insurance Conference and our second year at platinum level, as we believe it is the premier insurance education event in northern Australia,” GT Insurance SA and NT manager John Vanarey said.
