Finalists in the New Zealand Insurance Industry Awards have been announced.

The ceremony – hosted jointly for the first time by the Insurance Brokers Association of New Zealand and the Australian and New Zealand Institute of Insurance and Finance – will be held at the Pullman Hotel in Auckland on November 1.

There are 11 categories and the finalists in each are as follows:

Direct insurance company: AA Insurance, FMG, State Insurance
Intermediated insurance company: not yet announced
Life insurance company: Partners Life, Sovereign
Large broking company: Marsh, Willis
Small/medium broking company: Emerre & Hathaway, ICIB, Lifetime Insurance
Claims service provider: Chartis, Cunningham Lindsey, MAS
Service provider: DLA Phillips Fox, Duncan Cotterill, JB Hi-Fi
Broking professional: Conrad Shanly of Wilkinson Insurance Brokers; Damian Alexander of NZ Financial Brokers; and Stuart Speirs of the Abbott Group
Emerging professional: Ani Te Whaiti of Crombie Lockwood; Jeremy Bold of NZI; Justine McMeeking of Vero; Mikayla Pereira of QBE
Insurance leader: Jacki Johnson of IAG; John Lyon of Lumley; Lisa Murray of FMG
Lifetime achievement: Alan Race of Crombie Lockwood; Graham Byrnes of NZI; Peter McArthur of Lumley.
