NTI teams up with poet to thank truckies
Transport and logistics insurer NTI has teamed with poet Rupert McCall in a campaign to thank all transport and logistics workers for delivering groceries and medical supplies during the COVID-19 pandemic.
The national campaign expresses appreciation to truck drivers, cargo and warehouse personnel and construction workers.
Mr McCall’s past poems have paid tribute to Australia’s soldiers and the New York Fire Department for its response to the 9/11 tragedy. He has partnered with NTI to pen five short poems for its campaign.
“No virus gonna stop this fleet!,” one of his campaign poems says.
“They drove through summer fires, Destination: frontline.
We demand ‘n’ they supply,
To the trucks that keep us moving.
We say thanks from NTI.”
NTI CEO Tony Clark says the campaign features billboards with images of truckies, port, construction and warehouse workers, and the message “Thanks for keeping Australia moving”.
“This campaign is all about showing respect and gratitude,” Mr Clark said. “It’s now more than ever we can see how vital their work is.”
