NSW broker Debbi Thorne is the inaugural winner of the Frank Earl Memorial Scholarship.

The annual educational award is dedicated to the memory of popular broker and long-serving National Insurance Brokers Association (NIBA) board member Frank Earl, who died last July.

Ms Thorne, who works at Austbrokers Sydney, was named NSW Broker of the Year in 2008. The scholarship will allow her to complete her Graduate Diploma of Financial Services through NIBA College. It is sponsored by Pacific Premium Funding to the value of $10,000.

NIBA has also revealed the winners of the CGU-sponsored Certified Practising Insurance Broker scholarships.

They are Gemma Gould (MGA Insurance Brokers, NSW); James Fletcher (Interchange, NSW); Michelle Agius (Austbrokers Central Coast, NSW); William Lor (Austbrokers ABS, NSW); Isabell Mifsud (Aon Risk Services, Queensland); James Skiadas (IMC Insurance Brokers, Victoria); Leanne Fankhauser (Adroit Insurance Group, Victoria); Scott O’Neill (Blackburn Insurance Brokers, Victoria); and Tracy Newnham (Nexus Risk Services, WA).
