NRMA, RACV give disaster donation platform a tech uplift

IAG brands NRMA Insurance and RACV have partnered with donation platform GIVIT to help disaster-struck communities.

GIVIT facilitated the donation of 544,400 items and services last financial year, and received $3.6 million in donor funds.

RACV EGM Mark Geraghty says the partnership will “enable a technology uplift in GIVIT’s operations, achieving significant efficiencies in processing and distributing donations”.

GIVIT will introduce purchasing automation to streamline the buying of goods and services to support affected communities.

As national disaster and emergency partners, the NSW and Victorian IAG brands will work with GIVIT during disaster response and recovery from extreme weather.

“As our country faces the increased frequency and severity of extreme weather events, the role GIVIT plays in providing a transparent, co-ordinated and effective solution to connecting generous donors with people in need is vital,” said Julie Batch, CEO of NRMA Insurance, which has supported GIVIT since 2011.
