NM Insurance launches community grants program
Zurich-backed NM Insurance has announced a community grants program for recreational boating, caravanning and motorcycling professionals and organisations.
The insurer, which specialises in motorcycling, marine, cargo and caravanning, says the initiative looks to boost funding for grassroots and volunteer bodies to improve local community access.
NM Insurance CEO Lyndon Turner says the program reflects the insurer’s desire to “support the communities we live and work within”.
“The Program also reflects our core company values of doing what is right and building respect and trust through integrity and authenticity,” Mr Turner said.
“When defining the scope of the Program, we recognised the vast number of worthy local groups and admirable community-based initiatives throughout Australia and New Zealand.
“However, we felt the most natural fit for the NM Insurance Community Grants Program was to support local initiatives based around the areas of boating, caravanning, or motorcycling, to align with the types of assets our NM Insurance brands protect.”
Applications for the grants will be assessed three times a year by a voluntary committee comprised of marine, motorcycle and caravan industry professionals and NM Insurance executives, with meetings expected in March, July and November.
Marina Industries Association CEO Suzanne Davies says the organisation will work with its members to ensure that the program improves accessibility and “reaches those who need it”.
As part of the launch, the insurer says it awarded an additional grant to the Narrabeen Lakes Sailing Club, a Northern Sydney-based community organisation.
