NIBA WA lunch raises more than $12,000 for charities
Cystic Fibrosis WA and the Children’s Leukaemia and Cancer Research Foundation will each receive $6000 from the National Insurance Brokers Association (NIBA) after attendees at the annual Gala Lunch at Crown Perth this month donated $10 each.
NIBA says the amount raised was “a clear display of the WA broking community’s generosity and philanthropic spirit”.
“NIBA is proud to announce that the WA Gala Lunch has raised over $12,000 in total donations, to be split evenly between the two charities,” it said.
FordSure Director Derek Ford was named WA Broker of the Year at the lunch while Marsh Managing Principal Selena Piggott was named WA Young Professional Broker of the Year.
In Queensland, WTW Property and Casualty Account Director Sally Coulton and Thompson Insurance Account Manager William Thompson took out the honours, while in Victoria/Tasmania Gallagher Senior Account Executive Daniel Quintin and Aon/Affinity Insurance Brokers Client Manager Greg Shallard won.
The NSW/ACT winners will be announced on Thursday at Doltone House Hyde Park in Sydney, and the SA/NT winners on Friday at the Adelaide Convention Centre.
The two national winners, selected from the five regional award recipients in each category, will be announced in October. NIBA’s Broker of the Year receives the Stephen Ball Memorial Award, which is sponsored by QBE, and NIBA’s Young Broker of the Year receives the Warren Tickle Memorial Award, sponsored by Vero.
