The National Insurance Brokers Association (NIBA) has named the Queensland finalists in its annual broker and young professional broker awards.

The two contenders for broker of the year are Whitbread Queensland GM Vanessa Miller and AMS director Anna Sayers.

The winner of the overall national award, sponsored by Zurich, will receive an overseas travel and business development experience valued at $20,000.

The contenders for Queensland’s young professional award are:

• JLT Affinity Manager Brent Jaenke
• Queenscorp Client Executive Bronte Neville
• JLT Account Executive Shantelle Scovell.

The winner of the regional award, sponsored by Vero, will join the shortlist for the national Warren Tickle Memorial Award. The national winner will receive a tailored personal and business development experience valued at $10,000.

Willis Account Executive Adele May of Brisbane won last year.

The state winners will be announced at the NIBA Queensland expo lunch on July 15.

Judging for other regions will take place this month, with winners announced at events in July.

National awards will be presented at the NIBA Convention in Melbourne on September 6-8.
