The National Insurance Brokers Association (NIBA) will name four Broker of the Year award winners and four Young Professional Broker of the Year winners in July for WA, Queensland, NSW/ACT and SA/NT.

The eight winners will join Capital Innovation’s Ian Goninon and Integral Insurance Services’ Mitchell Wight – the 2021 winners in Victoria/Tasmania -- in competing for national honours.

The overall winners will be announced at the NIBA Convention at The Star Gold Coast in October.

The national Broker of the Year receives the Stephen Ball Memorial Award, which is sponsored by QBE, while the national Young Professional Broker of the Year joins Vero's prestigious Young Brokers Alumni Program and is awarded the Warren Tickle Memorial Award, sponsored by Vero.

Winners in WA are due to be announced on Friday, followed by Queensland on July 14, NSW/ACT on July 16 and SA/NT on July 23.

Broker of the Year finalists are:

WA: GSK Insurance Brokers Senior Account Manager Jeff Booth; Marsh Managing Principal Sarsha Neal; and Imperium Insurance & Financial Solutions MD Sumit Sopori.

Queensland: Austbrokers Comsure Senior Insurance Advisor David Kimber; Aon Client Manager Tamara Trotman; and Crucial Insurance and Risk Advisors MD Tony Venning.

NSW/ACT: Marsh Head of FINPRO Craig Claughton; Driessen Insurance Brokers MD Leo Driessen; and Arma Insurance Brokers Hunter Valley MD Amanda Morris.

SA/NT: CBD Insurance Services MD Kate Edgar; and Skinner & Irvine Insurance’s Karen Skinner.

Young Professional Broker finalists are:

WA: Albany District Insurance Brokers Account Executive Luke Cameron; Knightcorp Insurance Brokers Account Executive Joel Middleton; and Risk Guidance Insurance MD and Founder Robbie Gibbs.
