The National Insurance Brokers Association (NIBA) has announced the Victorian state finalists for the Broker of the Year award and the Warren Tickle Memorial Award.

The Zurich-sponsored Broker of the Year award is presented to a NIBA member who is an “inspirational role model” for the broking community, with accomplished achievements in the year prior to the award.

Alan Wilson of Alan Wilson Insurance Brokers in Traralgon won the Victorian division of the award, which was presented by Zurich State Manager Victoria and Tasmania Chris O’Connor.

“It’s humbling and I feel honoured,” Mr Wilson told insuranceNEWS.com.au. “We’ve got a good culture and a good lot of people here, and I wouldn’t have won the award without these people behind me.”

Amanda Marinis, Senior Account Executive at Marsh, was named the Victorian entrant in this year’s Warren Tickle award, and was presented her award by sponsor Vero’s Victoria Sales Leader, Glenn Burbidge.

Both finalists will now travel to the NIBA convention at the Gold Coast next month to compete for the national awards.
