The National Insurance Brokers Association (NIBA) has started accepting nominations for next year’s awards for brokers and young brokers at national and state levels.

National winners of the QBE-sponsored Stephen Ball Memorial Award for broker of the year and Vero-sponsored Warren Tickle Memorial Award for best young broker will be announced at the NIBA Convention in Sydney next September.

The Stephen Ball winner will receive a prize worth $20,000, while the Warren Tickle prize is valued at $10,000.

Broker of the year entries will be assessed by state and territory judges in May, and finalists will be announced at regional events in May and July.

In the young broker category, nominees must be aged under 35 at December 31 of the year they enter.

This year Austbrokers Coast to Coast MD Dale Hansen took the broker award, and Noel Kelly of Austbrokers AEI Transport was the young professional winner.
