The National Insurance Brokers Association (NIBA) has named three finalists for its student of the year award, marking the last time the prize scheme will run following the closure of NIBA College.

Maria Parry from Austcover in Queensland, William Buckley from Aon Risk Services in NSW and Ben Will from MGA Insurance Brokers in SA are the contenders.

The winner, to be announced at the NIBA Convention in Melbourne next Monday, will receive a $1000 cash prize and participate in the QBE eQuip leadership program.

NIBA College stopped taking in new enrolments last November, and support services to students ceased last week.

Veronica Harrison from Oxley Insurance Brokers in NSW won NIBA College’s trainee of the year award.
