CGU, QBE and Zurich will contest this year’s National Insurance Brokers Association (NIBA) general insurer of the year award.

The three finalists attracted the most votes in the annual NIBA market survey, which asks brokers to rate insurers’ products and services across a range of categories.

The winner will be announced at the NIBA Convention in Adelaide next Monday morning.

Zurich is seeking back-to-back success after claiming the title last year, while QBE aims to return to the winner’s podium after taking the award for 11 consecutive years from 2002-12.

CGU has not been a finalist for several years.

A record 1148 brokers completed the survey, and NIBA Professional Development Executive Linda Evans says the voting was the closest yet experienced.
