Austbrokers SPT director Brian Salisbury is the National Insurance Brokers Association’s (NIBA) NSW/ACT broker of the year.

Sydney-based JLT National Divisional Manager Amanda Blackburn is young professional broker of the year for the region.

Her award, sponsored by Vero, recognises broking’s rising stars under the age of 35.

Mr Salisbury is based in Miranda, southern Sydney, and will soon celebrate 40 years at the company, which was known as Salisbury Payne Tinslay before becoming an Austbrokers equity partner in 2005.

His award, sponsored by Zurich, goes to a broker deemed an inspiration to the broker community, who has demonstrated excellence in broking practice and client advocacy.

Mr Salisbury and Ms Blackburn will compete with other regional finalists for the Zurich-sponsored national broker and Vero-sponsored Warren Tickle young professional broker awards at NIBA’s national convention in Melbourne on September 7.
