NIBA calls for award entries

The National Insurance Brokers Association (NIBA) is now accepting nominations for next year’s broker of the year award.

Five state winners will be announced next July and receive a travel voucher worth $1000. The national winner will be revealed at the NIBA Convention in Adelaide in September.

They will receive a $20,000 professional development prize, including international travel, meetings with executives from award sponsor Zurich and tickets to leading business seminars.

This year’s broker of the year, Danny Gumm from Parmia Insurance, will travel to the US to attend the Zurich Classic of New Orleans golf event, the New Orleans Jazz Festival and business seminars.

The young professional broker of the year prize is also open for nominations, with the winner taking the Warren Tickle Memorial Award, sponsored by Vero.

They will receive a $10,000 working holiday to London, where they can meet industry leaders and attend professional development sessions.

State winners will attend a personal development workshop in Sydney and the NIBA Convention.

Nominations for all awards can be made on the NIBA website. Entries close on February 28.

NIBA is expecting more nominations for the 2014 awards, due to changes in the nomination and timeline process, a spokesman told insuranceNEWS.com.au.

There is no self-nomination this year and regional finalists are to be interviewed earlier in the year (April) rather than in the May-June renewals period, as has occurred in the last couple of years.
