NIBA begins annual search for best brokers

Nominations for the National Insurance Brokers Association’s (NIBA) Broker of the Year and the Warren Tickle Memorial Award are now open.

The annual Broker of the Year award, now in its second year, is presented to the broker who best displays the values of professionalism, excellence and community contribution and is over the age of 35.

For those under 35, the Warren Tickle Memorial Award, now in its 23rd year, recognises a young insurance broker who displays an outstanding level of professionalism and integrity.

To be eligible for the Broker of the Year award, brokers must be a member of NIBA College, a Qualified Practising Insurance Broker (QPIB) and have spent a minimum of three of the past five years living in Australia.

Nominees for the Vero-sponsored Warren Tickle Memorial Award must hold the designation of Associate or QPIB/QFSR and hold a full Diploma of Financial Services (Insurance Broking) or equivalent.

The Broker of the Year award is sponsored by Zurich, which sent last year’s inaugural winner, Victorian broker Alan Wilson, to the US to attend the New Orleans Classic golf tournament and the New Orleans Jazz Festival.

State and territory winners will be announced in July and are eligible for the national award, to be presented at the NIBA Convention in Melbourne in October. State-based winners will also receive a $1000 travel voucher.

State winners of the Warren Tickle Memorial Award will attend a personal development workshop in Sydney and attend the NIBA Convention where the overall winner will be announced.

Nominations for both categories must be submitted by May 1.
