Submissions are now open for the Young Insurance Professionals (YIPs) and Barry.Nilsson Next Gen Insurance Leader Award.

The annual competition recognises innovative thinking, leadership potential and business acumen, and encourages the career development of Australian and New Zealand young insurance professionals.

Applicants for this year’s award must submit a 2000-word paper exploring one of five questions covering topics including digitalisation, natural disaster protection, corporate social responsibility, insuring the uninsurable, and shaping the future of insurance.

“Entrants must be aged 35 or under at the time of submission, and work in an area directly connected to general insurance, display innovative thinking and commercial application,” Barry.Nilsson Principal Simon Black said.

The winner, who will receive a $5000 cash prize, will be announced on May 27 at an event in Sydney.

Closing date for submissions is April 28 and finalists will be named on May 20.
