Newcastle broker wins ACT/NSW accolade
Tony Bourke, director of AIIB Insurance Brokers’ Newcastle office, has won the National Insurance Brokers Association’s (NIBA) ACT/NSW broker of the year award.
The annual award was presented at a NIBA lunch in Sydney attended by more than 350 people.
Cara Donnelly of Hornsby-based Paul Donnelly Insurance Brokers was runner-up.
Mr Bourke will now compete with other regional winners for the Zurich-sponsored Broker of the Year award, which will be announced at the NIBA Convention in Adelaide in September.
Adam Hines, the NSW GM of Gibbscorp, won the regional young professional broker of the year title ahead of Drew Ferns from OAMPS’ Wollongong branch and Eric Lowenstein of Aon.
He and other regional finalists will now vie for the Warren Tickle Memorial Award for young professional brokers. The award honours the memory of a former insurance commissioner and advocate for professional education, and is sponsored by Vero.
