New CEO for big NZ broker

Carl O’Shea has been promoted to CEO at Wesfarmers-owned major New Zealand brokerage Crombie Lockwood.

He takes over from Steve Lockwood, who is assuming a broader strategic role as Executive Chairman of Wesfarmers Insurance Broking.

Mr O’Shea has been with Crombie Lockwood for 23 years, most recently as COO. He was a shareholder before Wesfarmers bought the company in 2007.

Mr Lockwood, a founding shareholder and CEO for the past 20 years, will oversee Wesfarmers’ broking operations across NZ, Australia and the UK.

Wesfarmers Insurance MD Rob Scott says Mr Lockwood will work closely with the CEOs of Crombie Lockwood and OAMPS in Australia and the UK to seek growth opportunities and better leverage capabilities and scale.
