The Sydney Motor Underwriters Group has started up again after a long break, and will hold its next event in March.

A speaker from Finity Consulting will address the meeting in Sydney CBD, with the future of motor insurance the likely topic, a spokesman told insuranceNEWS.com.au.

A specific date and location are yet to be confirmed.

The group, previously aligned with the Australian and New Zealand Institute of Insurance and Finance, has been “dormant” for two years, but has resumed independently following renewed interest. It is hoped about 60 or more members will join.

Other possible topics for events next year include in-car telematics systems, NSW police advice on accident investigations, compulsory third party gap cover and risk management.

The group aims to provide a professional forum for education, networking and discussion of “significant and current issues” facing the industry.
