MMIF event to explore hypothetical marine incident
A hypothetical incident involving a bulk cargo vessel at sea will be explored in a Melbourne Marine Insurance Forum webinar event this week.
The scenario involves a crew needing to rely on their training and on-board equipment and technology, with an expert only available by satellite phone to provide technical advice on how to control and manage the situation and minimise the risk.
The session will be presented by Patrick Cook, a consultant forensic scientist and engineer at Minton Treharne & Davies Australia.
Forum organisers say the presentation will illustrate some of the complex issues that can arise and the feedback effects that some actions have on an evolving incident.
The event will be held tomorrow at 11am. More details are available here.
