Minister to open ICNZ conference
Earthquake Commission Minister Grant Robertson will open the Insurance Council of New Zealand’s annual conference tomorrow.
Mr Robertson, who is also Finance Minister, has been invited to speak broadly on the future of insurance in New Zealand and the working relationship between Government and the industry.
The conference will focus during the morning sessions on the theme of conduct and culture, before turning to an exploration of resilience in the afternoon.
Speakers include Reserve Bank of New Zealand Governor Adrian Orr, Insurance and Financial Services Ombudsman Karen Stevens, NZbrokers CEO Jo Mason and Steadfast MD and CEO Robert Kelly.
A session on how insurers are responding to the changing customer and conduct landscape will feature Tower CEO Richard Harding and Suncorp NZ CRO Helen McNeil.
During the afternoon, delegates will hear from Mark Crosweller, Head of the National Resilience Taskforce within Australia’s Department of Home Affairs.
UN Environment’s Principles for Sustainable Insurance program leader Butch Bacani will also address the conference.
The event is being held at the Cordis Hotel in Auckland.
