Meridian Lawyers has announced the appointment of two new principals – Clyde & Co’s Jacinta Long and Marcus O’Brien – who will join its national operations.  

Ms Long, who will be joining Meridian’s Brisbane team, specialises in product and general liability, having practised in Australian, Japanese and London markets. Her team of Special Counsel Sarah Yau and Associate Jackson Hayes will join her.  

Mr O’Brien will be based in the firm’s Melbourne office, with a focus on professional indemnity and D&O claims. He previously served as a Partner for Clyde & Co for almost eight years and has more than 20 years of legal experience. 

Meridian MD Paul Baker says the hires are “excellent additions”, and bolster Meridian’s principal group to 34, with the firm completing more than 110 staff hires within the calendar year.
