Melbourne broker wins Warren Tickle award
Amanda Marinis has won this year’s Warren Tickle Memorial Award for an outstanding young professional broker.
Ms Marinis, a senior account executive at Marsh in Melbourne, was picked by judges from Vero and the National Insurance Brokers Association (NIBA) from a field of candidates selected at regional semi-finals.
The Vero-sponsored award provides the winner with an all-expenses paid trip to London and a placement at Lloyd’s. It honours the memory of former Insurance Commissioner Warren Tickle and is open to NIBA members aged under 35.
Accepting the award at the NIBA convention on the Gold Coast yesterday, Ms Marinis encouraged more young brokers to enter the award competition, which includes two days of development workshops and judging in Sydney.
The other finalists were:
Queensland: Sally-Anne Townley, Manager at the Gold Coast office of Nadic Insurance Brokers;
WA: Shelley Hymas, Client Director at Aon Risk Services, Perth;
NSW: Alexandra Blannin-Ferguson, an account executive at Willis, Sydney;
SA: Chris Donnelly of Donnelly Insurance Brokers, Adelaide.
