Commercial property insurer Affiliated FM has awarded a scholarship to Marsh broker Tyson Vickery, enabling him to visit a leading property loss prevention research centre in the US next month.

Mr Vickery was chosen from brokers around the country who submitted a discussion paper on “Who benefits from loss prevention?”.

Affiliated FM Director Glen Drinnan says all the submissions impressed him, but Mr Vickery’s stood out.

“Tyson’s discussion piece caught our eye due to the depth of its insight into the wide-reaching impacts of loss prevention across the community as well as to the business,” he said.

Affiliated FM parent company FM Global has four main laboratories in its Rhode Island research centre: fire technology, natural hazards, electrical hazards and hydraulics.
