Marine forum discusses Arabian Sea disaster
The explosion of the Maersk Honam container ship in the Arabian Sea will be examined at a Melbourne Marine Insurance Forum meeting next week.
The vessel was travelling from Singapore to Suez in March last year when a fire started in the cargo hold. The ship was carrying 7860 containers.
WK Webster director Gregg Newman will give a presentation about the “general average casualty” on April 2 at 3pm, at the offices of Colin Biggers & Paisley in William Street.
Mr Newman heads claims manager WK Webster’s admiralty department, which handles major marine casualties. Registration for the meeting is available here.
