The winners of the Mansfield Awards for Claims Excellence are now known to the organisers – but they’re not telling.

The names of the victorious insurers in a range of insurance classes – and the overall winner of the inaugural “Gold Mansfield” – are a closely guarded secret between the two primary organisers of the event, LMI Group MD Allan Manning and Insurance News Publisher Terry McMullan.

The winners will be named at a gala event at the Establishment Ballroom in Sydney on Thursday night. Industry leaders and claims professionals from across the industry have booked to attend the awards ceremony, which is intended to become an annual event.

“We’ve been delighted with the support we’ve received since we announced the awards last year,” Mr McMullan told insuranceNEWS.com.au. “Claims are what insurance is all about, yet other industry awards events ignore their importance.

“We’ve established something that celebrates claims and encourages high standards, while moving away from the distortions that can occur when companies have to apply to be in the running for an award.

“The Mansfield Awards have been measured using data LMI has obtained from a range of sources, backed up by an extensive survey of brokers. So the winner won’t be the company with the best submission, because there aren’t any submissions to judge.

He says every cent left over from organising the Mansfield Awards “will go to a very deserving charity”.
