Loss adjuster/mentor dies
Well-known Sydney loss adjuster Vin Gallagher has died at the age of 55.
Mr Gallagher was well known as a mentor to young loss adjusters. He was a director of the Australasian Institute of Chartered Loss Adjusters (AICLA), involved in the Institute of Claims Technician (ICT) exam program and served on the Australian Institute of Loss Adjusters education committee.
He started out in loss adjusting in the 1980s in his native UK, and emigrated to Australia with his wife Angela in 1995. He worked for several adjusting companies, most recently Cerno.
Mr Gallagher was also involved with the charity Sailability and the War Veterans Association.
