Loss manager LMI Group and insurance technology provider Gratex International have held an insurance seminar in Nairobi for leaders of the Kenyan insurance industry.

LMI MD Allan Manning and Slovakia-based Gratex MD Peter Dovhun discussed the growing importance of emerging technologies and Big Data.

Professor Manning says the Kenyan market is keen to embrace best practice through technology, which is considered “of great assistance to their businesses and to the protection of their clients”.

As one of the fastest-growing economies in Africa, Kenya is benefitting from improved infrastructure and a thriving business environment, Professor Manning says.

“There is a desire to strengthen the country’s insurance industry to cater to the growing large [business] and SME sector.”
