Lloyd’s golf day raises $30k for charity
Lloyd’s Australia raised $30,000 at its inaugural charity golf day to help find a cure for spinal cord injury.
The event last week at Avondale Golf Club in NSW involved 30 teams of coverholders, syndicates and brokers competing in aid of SpinalCure Australia.
SLE Worldwide, XL Catlin and Brooklyn Underwriting were the major sponsors.
“We were delighted the Lloyd’s community showed outstanding support for this important cause,” General Representative in Australia Chris Mackinnon said.
The team from XL Catlin won first prize, with the runners-up from SLE.
During the prize-giving, Mr Mackinnon announced the creation of the Lloyd’s Australia Golf Society.
Membership will open early next year to members of the Lloyd’s community, with a number of fundraising, social and golfing events planned.
