LMI Legal Director Peter O’Brien has died suddenly in Sydney.

He was an experienced insurance litigation lawyer at Wotton+Kearney Lawyers before joining LMI Group’s Sydney office in 2009.

LMI Founder and Executive Chairman Allan Manning says colleagues knew Mr O’Brien as a mentor and unselfish adviser with a fantastic sense of humour.

“Peter was much more than a colleague at LMI,” he said. “[He was] more like a brother to many of us, me included, while to the many team members he mentored he was a father figure despite his relatively young age.”

Mr O’Brien is survived by his wife Debbie and two sons. The funeral is expected to be live-streamed.
