Lion Underwriting has opened an office in Queensland and announced three appointments, as it continues to grow since its launch last year.

The authorised representative of NAS Insurance Brokers has added a base in Yatala, to its premises in Castlereagh Street, Sydney.

Ralph Dissell, who previously ran a reinsurance broking business in South Africa, has been appointed Director – Management and Compliance, and Kate Walpole has started her career as Assistant Underwriter. Aaron Garland has been recruited from Calibre as Underwriting Manager – Property, as the business looks to develop a property offering.

Mr Dissell and Ms Walpole are based in Queensland, while Mr Garland will work from Sydney.

MD Kurt Nilsen says the agency has grown strongly. “This expansion is a response to that growth,” he told insuranceNEWS.com.au.
