Ligeti appoints property insurance lawyer

Riley Gay has joined Ligeti Partners as principal lawyer in the commercial and residential property insurance team in Melbourne.

He joins from Clyde & Co and has more than a decade of insurance litigation experience across professional liability, cyber and general insurance disputes. He will work closely with principal lawyers Sindri Bergsson and Andrew Sawkins.

MD James Mulcahy says Mr Gay has a background in “top-tier firms and brings a wealth of experience and diverse skill set”.

He says the firm has added a raft of talented lawyers since early last year.

“The growth of that team has created an opportunity for a further leader and we’re thrilled Riley has decided to join us,” he said. “He has acted in a range of different areas of insurance litigation and, more importantly, is an approachable and excellent communicator with his clients.”
