Law firm Hall & Wilcox appoints Melbourne insurance partner

David Chew has been appointed partner at Hall & Wilcox, expanding the law firm’s financial and speciality lines insurance practice.

Managing Partner Tony Macvean said the appointment would add further depth to the firm’s insurance practice -- particularly its financial lines offering.

“David’s expertise will significantly expand this practice, where he will take a leading role,” Mr Macvean said. “We are delighted to welcome him.”

Hall & Wilcox employs more than 1000, including over 120 partners, working across eight offices.

Melbourne-based Mr Chew will expand the Victorian, and associated Tasmanian and SA arms of the firm’s national practice in those areas. He specialises in professional indemnity and directors and officers (D&O) liability risks, acting across insurance, legal, construction, public sector and media and technology industries.

“I look forward to my new role and being part of Hall & Wilcox’s expanding national financial lines practice,” he said.
