Lardner’s NIBA service recognised

Former National Insurance Brokers Association Brokers (NIBA) president Steve Lardner has been awarded the Lex McKeown Trophy for services to broking and the association.

The award was made at the NIBA Convention at Sydney’s Darling Harbour yesterday.

Mr Lardner has been on the NIBA board since 2005 and served as president in 2009/10 and was convention committee chairman for two years. He currently chairs the board’s finance committee.

He is Director of Broking Operations at Aon Australia, and told the convention opening session that his work for NIBA has only been possible because of the support of his Aon colleagues and his wife, Deb. “We’ve been married for 32 years, but she’s only seen me for 10 of them.”

NIBA President David Duffield says Mr Lardner “is widely respected for his strong work ethic, meticulous attention to detail and his ability to simply get things done”.
