KPMG Australia has appointed experienced executive Tim Thomas to lead a specialist insurance and wealth management practice within its global strategy group.

Mr Thomas joins from Prudential Financial, where he led strategy and corporate development for the company’s Asia-Pacific operations.

Maurice van den Heuvel has moved from KPMG Netherlands’ insurance strategy practice and will be a senior leader in Mr Thomas’ team.

“The Australian insurance and wealth management market is going through an unprecedented period of change in client expectations, political and regulatory pressure, mergers and acquisitions, and technological advancement,” Mr Thomas said.

“Firms in Australia are increasingly looking to global experiences and non-traditional capabilities to build sustainability into their business models.”
