Kennedys appoints three senior associates, two special counsel
The Australian arm of insurance law firm Kennedys has announced a new round of senior promotions, including two new special counsel, insurance: Melbourne-based Edwina Fenwick and Sydney-based Jonathan Shakenovsky.
Ms Fenwick is an insurance specialist, acting for insurers and insured clients across a wide range of matters including public liability, product liability, professional negligence, construction and recovery claims.
Mr Shakenovsky advises insurers on coverage and indemnity disputes with particular focus on professional indemnity, D&O, financial institutions and crime and fidelity, with success in complex litigation.
Ingrid Kristiansen, Dilani Patrick and Nicholas Driver were appointed as senior associates.
Sydney-based Ms Kristiansen is an experienced insurance litigation lawyer with a strong background in professional indemnity, property damage and personal injury.
Mr Patrick, also Sydney-based, is a specialist in healthcare insurance, acting for medical practitioners and private hospitals in the defence of medical negligence claims, disciplinary proceedings, registration issues, coronial inquests and healthcare complaints.
Melbourne-based Mr Driver is a commercial litigator acting for government, individuals and private enterprises across commercial litigation, ASIC regulatory investigations, administrative law, bankruptcy and insolvency law, oppressive shareholder conduct claims and intellectual property law.
Kennedys entered the Australian market in 2006 and has offices in Sydney, Melbourne and Perth comprising 14 partners and 90 staff.
Globally, a record 86 staff have been promoted to senior roles within the firm.
