Kaplan renews women's scholarship program
Kaplan Professional will provide 10 scholarships to women this year under an initiative to increase diversity in the financial services sector.
The financial educator introduced the Women in Finance Scholarships program last year, in partnership with the Financial Planning Association of Australia (FPA).
Recipients will have tuition fees covered for two subjects from Kaplan Professional’s Master of Financial Planning or Master of Applied Finance.
The FPA has dedicated $50,000 to fund this year’s scholarships. The association was given a $1.5 million grant by the Federal Government last year to manage and deliver the scholarship program for women in finance and economics.
Kaplan Professional CEO Brian Knight says last year’s scholarship program attracted “so many deserving applicants that we made the decision to provide additional funding and award 11 scholarships”.
“Seven other women who had compelling applications, but were not awarded a scholarship, were offered significantly reduced tuition fees.”
