Allianz says it is recruiting a new senior portfolio director in its technical team after the promotion of Jenny Bax to the newly created role of GM Underwriting Agencies.

Allianz has involvement in seven underwriting agencies: AM&T, Dawes Motor Insurance, GT Insurance, Ken Tame, Primacy, Strata Community Insurance and SURA Plant and Equipment, for which it supplies security.

Ms Bax starts in the Sydney-based role, which is part of Allianz’s Broker and Agency team, on Wednesday. She will be responsible for the oversight and governance of Allianz’s Underwriting Agencies, making sure each agency’s expertise and specialisation complements Allianz’s overall strategy.

“The underwriting agencies are an integral part of the success of Allianz and I look forward to working with an amazing team to continue building on that,” she said.
