International actuaries congress returns to Sydney
The International Congress of Actuaries will return to Sydney next year after a 39-year gap, with registrations for the event set to open next month.
The event will run from May 29 to June 1 in a hybrid format allowing participants to take part in person and online. The congress will have the theme “Bridge to tomorrow”.
Topics covered will include disruptive technologies, crisis management, risk and opportunities in new and developing markets, the Asian century, climate change, longevity and the age of the consumer.
The Actuaries Institute’s local annual summit won’t be held next year as the group is hosting the congress in conjunction with the International Actuarial Association.
Berlin hosted the previous international congress in 2018. It was last held in Sydney in 1984 and is scheduled for Tokyo in 2026.
