Australia’s premier Insurtech Conference will offer global insights on the burgeoning sector.

Organised by the Australian and New Zealand Institute of Insurance and Finance (ANZIIF), is the only such event with the official backing of partners Insurtech Australia and Insurtech NZ.

This will be the conference’s third year, and ANZIIF says it continues to grow.

It should not be confused with a similarly named “summit” being held in Sydney the day after the ANZIIF event.

Insurtech Australia CEO Simon O’Dell told insuranceNEWS.com.au the ANZIIF event will focus on the themes “connect, inspire and innovate”.

He says international speakers will bring the best global expertise. CEO of Munich Re Digital Partners Andrew Rear has already been secured.

Mr O’Dell says the conference will benefit the entire insurance sector – incumbents and new entrants alike.

Research published in May, produced by EY in collaboration with Insurtech Australia, suggested incumbents are too slow to partner with insurtechs, but Mr O’Dell says things are changing.

“Since then we have definitely seen really positive signs that the bulk of the industry is getting a better understanding of insurtech,” he said.
