Allianz Australia is among a group of general and life insurers awarded Employer of Choice for Women status by the Equal Opportunity for Women Agency (EOWA).

Suncorp Group, AMP and TAL Life, which trades as InsuranceLine, were the other insurers to receive the award this year.

The status is bestowed on less than 5% of the more than 2900 organisations that report to the EOWA each year, and is awarded to non-government organisations that have policies and practices supporting women across the organisation and achieving positive outcomes for both women and the business.

Allianz Australia MD Terry Towell says his company “takes diversity seriously, as we want our company to be a reflection of the community in which we operate and gender diversity is key to achieving this goal”.

Mr Towell says Allianz was recognised by EOWA for the fourth successive year due to its flexible work options, talent management program, the types of leave and benefits available to its employees, and its global and local approach to diversity.
