Insurance leaders recognised in new year honours
Phil Kearns, the MD of insurance broker InterRisk and former Wallabies captain, has been made a Member of the Order of Australia (AM), recognising his support for charitable organisations, business and rugby union.
IAG director Philip Twyman has also been made an AM for his service to the insurance industry as a mentor and role model, and to international relations.
Australian Reinsurance Pool Corporation Chief Underwriting Officer Michael Pennell has received a Public Service Medal for helping to develop the terrorism insurance scheme.
And in the UK new year’s honours list, Lloyd’s CEO Inga Beale was made a dame for services to the British economy.
