Insurance executive recruiter makes Sydney appointment

Eliot Partnership has appointed Olivia Barth to the newly created role of Senior Consultant as the insurance executive recruiter’s local growth accelerates.

Ms Barth most recently spent two years as Commonwealth Bank Executive Talent & Succession and she previously held senior roles at executive search firms Heidrick & Struggles and Spencer Stuart.

Based in the Sydney team, which is headed by ANZ Director Graeme Young, she will drive the regional Asia Pacific business alongside Head of APAC and Senior Partner Ricarda Simon.

Ms Barth says local insurers need to find innovative ways to attract and retain talent, including looking at “rising stars” and to overseas markets.

“That’s where I feel we will add the most value,” she said. "The Australian market is going through a particularly turbulent time as the talent pool tightens, and insurance companies feel the twin pressures of skills shortages and higher salaries.

“I am delighted to join the Eliot team and support our Australian and regional clients.”

Eliot says it is the only global insurance sector specialist executive search business in the world.

It works with boards and executive teams to fill senior roles across the insurance, reinsurance, legacy, and claims management sectors from its offices in the UK, Europe, North America and Asia Pacific. Its clients include insurers, reinsurers, brokers, run-off companies, loss adjusters, insurtechs, specialty and boutique' companies and entrepreneurial start-ups.

“This year is already proving to be hugely successful for Eliot Partnership in Australia, thanks to the continued support of our clients and our ability to tap into global knowledge, expertise and resources,” Mr Young said.
