Insurance exec roughs it for charity
Willis Australasia Deputy CEO Tony Barber braved icy conditions in Melbourne last week when he joined senior executives from many industries sleeping rough to raise funds for the homeless.
Mr Barber raised $16,417 for the St Vincent de Paul CEO Sleepout, as the city endured one of the coldest nights of the year with temperatures dropping to 1ºC.
His was the second-highest sum raised at the Victoria event. Transport Accident Commission CEO Janet Dore and WorkSafe Victoria CEO Denise Cosgrove also took part.
In NSW, Willis Re Australia CEO Michael Harden was among those taking to the streets. In WA, Zenith Insurance Services director Kim Gilbert participated.
Stream Group MD Don McKenzie, RACQ Insurance CEO Bradley Heath and Austbrokers Premier director Scott Hastings joined the Queensland event.
