Insight honours industry professionals

Gold Coast broker Sally-Anne Townley has won the Insight Insurance Brokers Association Norm Dyer Award of Excellence.

Ms Townley, 21, is juggling full-time work as the head of the company’s Southport office while undertaking her final year of a Bachelor of Commerce degree – a challenge she says has only been made achievable through the support of her employers, Nadic Insurance Brokers.

She was named the winner on Saturday night at the Insight Conference dinner. The award was sponsored by CGU, whose recently retired formerly GM Retail, John Evans, was the inaugural winner of the Peter Michell Friends of Insight Award.

The award commemorates Peter Michell’s contribution and support of the associations which later became Insight.

Affinity Insurance Services’ broker Marianna Alhovirta won the inaugural Les McInerney Award of Excellence, sponsored by Vero.

Ms Alhovirta has extensive experience as both a broker and an underwriter, and Insight Executive Officer Bill Friend says her “positive attitude and commitment to her clients makes her the employee that all brokers dream of having”.

Next year’s Insight conference will be held at Glenelg, SA, from May 17-20.
