Insight Australia Group has appointed Moira Kemp as its new CEO.

Ms Kemp previously held a national role as practice manager at Aon and also worked as a marketing analyst at Steadfast and as a development manager at Insurance House Group.

She says she is looking forward to the “exciting and challenging” role, which she started this week.

“A great foundation has already been laid and we need to take it to the next level – both in terms of attracting new members and creating brand awareness,” Ms Kemp told insuranceNEWS.com.au.

“There is a brilliant board of directors here who have a vision of where they want to go next and I look forward to working with them.”

Chairman David Hosking – who was confirmed in the position at a board meeting on Friday – says Ms Kemp is “going to be terrific, particularly in the drive for new members”.

“It’s a really exciting time at Insight because we are in a period of transition from an incorporated association to a company.”

The group had been without a CEO since Bill Friend, who built the association from a small state-based body into a national organisation, left last August after six years’ service.

Last week it was announced David Herlihy had retired as chairman.
